Horațiu Crețu is a Romanian lawyer whose practice focuses primarily on banking and finance, corporate and commercial law, insolvency and debt recovery, as well as financial and digital regulation.

He has gained significant experience in banking and finance matters, assisting with the drafting and review of loan agreements, security documents and financing documentation, including mortgages over shares, movable and immovable assets and receivables. His experience also covers the legal review of title documentation and corporate authorisations.

Horațiu has been involved in cross-border and syndicated financing transactions, including financing projects in the renewable energy sector, as well as in legal due diligence assignments concerning banking and finance, corporate, real estate and employment matters. His work combines transactional experience with a practical understanding of the security structures commonly used in Romanian financing transactions.

His practice also extends to financial services and digital regulation, including matters concerning payment services, credit intermediaries, crypto-asset service providers and regulatory compliance. He has also acquired experience in debt recovery and insolvency proceedings, assisting financial institutions in the recovery and enforcement of their claims.

Before joining BMA Legal, Horațiu gained experience both in-house with a Romanian financial institution and with international and Romanian business law firms, working on financing, regulatory and transactional matters.
